Starting out at UW-Marathon County (UWMC) was initially a way to go to college while staying in town and saving money. I found the coursework challenging, but the instructors very passionate about their content area, as well as supportive of me. I also thought that this was a much more cost-effective way to experiment with different classes with not knowing exactly what I wanted to major in quite yet. Later on, when I transferred to a four-year university to earn my bachelor's, I quickly realized how much UWMC had helped me hone my skills as a student because the rest of my classes were a relative breeze.
